APPLETON, WI — The Appleton Area School District will improve access to mental health services for students and their families.
The district is awarded a $40,000 mental health grant from the W-E-A Member Benefits Foundation at Monday’s school board meeting. Steve Goldberg, the Executive Director of the WEA Member Benefits Foundation, says the money will be used as the district sees best and will help raise matching funds.
Polly Vanden Boogard, Appleton’s Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, says the funds will benefit elementary and secondary school students and their families.
Similar mental health grants are being award to the Racine, Sun Prairie and Watertown school districts.
