GRAND CHUTE, Wis–A familiar face will serve as the interim Fire Chief in Grand Chute. The Police and Fire Commission selects former Appleton and Neenah-Menasha Chief Len Vander Wyst to temporarily fill the position. Current Grand Chute Fire Chief Tim Bantes is retiring next week.
Vander Wyst was Neenah Fire Chief starting in 1996 and retained the position when the department merged with Menasha. He served as Appleton Fire Chief from 2009 to 2018, when he retired.
