APPLETON, WI — Community and business leaders officially welcome the Hilton Hotel chain to downtown Appleton. An afternoon ribbon cutting at the main entrance marks the rebranding of the historic hotel as the Hilton Appleton Paper Valley Hotel. That follows a multi-million dollar refurbishing of all 388 guest rooms, the lobby, the front desk, the Clubhouse Kitchen plus Bar and The Harvest Kitchen and Pantry. Mark Fogel, C-E-O of Acres Real Estate Investments, says Hilton’s involvement with an iconic local hotel is a big vote of confidence for the community.
Hotel General Manager Linda Garvey says Hilton’s investment in the guest experience fits well with the Hilton Appleton Paper Valley’s service history.
Mile of Music organizer Dave Willems says the hotel’s renewal is an asset for events that boost the downtown’s vibrancy.
Appleton Mayor Jake Woodford says despite the investment in the community, he has a small concern.
Hilton’s affiliation with the Hilton Appleton Paper Valley Hotel comes 40-years after the hotel’s grand opening.
