MARION, Wis–A man drowns after trying to retrieve a swimming tube in a Waupaca County pond. The incident happened around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon in the Marion Mill Pond at Lions Point Park.
Police say the man–a 59-year-old from Milwaukee–was trying to retrieve the tube for his grandchildren when he waded into water over his head. He was pulled from the pond shortly before 5:00 and pronounced dead. His name was not released.
