APPLETON, Wis. — A police officer-involved shooting Friday results in the death of an Appleton man.
Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1500 block of N. Birchwood Avenue around 7 p.m.
Officers were confronted by a man with a gun. They tried to negotiate with the man.
Later the officers fired their weapons, striking the armed man. He died later at an area hospital.
The officers involved are now on administrative leave, which is department policy.
The Department of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation with help from the Department of Justice and other law enforcement agencies.
