A woman that abandoned her newborn baby to die in Dodge County back in 2009 will spend six months in jail. Karin Luttinen is also sentenced to three years on probation for Concealing the Death of a Child.
The body of the newborn girl was found inside a bag in a wooded area in the town of Theresa in April of 2009. She was called “Baby Theresa” and was provided with a burial spot through community support.
Earlier this year, investigators used D-N-A to compile a list of potential relatives for the girl. One of those on the list was Luttinen–who admitted giving birth to the baby–which she said died soon after.
