Oshkosh, WI — Two new micro-hospitals are coming to Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. ThedaCare and Froedert Health this morning announce a partnership that will create two new health care campuses. Each micro-hospital will provide access to emergency care, in-patient services and 24-7 coverage with certified emergency care doctors. ThedaCare President and CEO Dr. Imran Andrabi says one new health care location will bring hospital and outpatient services that are more convenient to most Oshkosh residents.
“Nearly 72-percent of residents in Oshkosh live on the east side. And not having having a convenient place to go 24/7, 365 does not make sense to us,” Andrabi says. “So one of the things we were looking to do is provide that access to excellent care close to home.”
Foredert Health President and CEO Cathy Jacobson says the two smaller hospitals will enhance economic development.
“There are significant developments taking place in this region of the state, including Oshkosh and Fond du Lac,” she says. “Additional housing, job creation and opportunities for businesses, organizations and families to grow and prosper. And these new two campuses, hospital campuses will really extend those community development efforts in both Oshkosh and Fond du Lac.
ThedaCare and Froedert Health will spend about $110-million dollars on the new Oshkosh and Fond du Lac health care campuses. Groundbreaking is tentatively set for spring of 2023 with planned openings in 2024.
