Appleton Library officials continue to work on a revised design for their downtown facility. Initial bids for the project came in 12-million dollars over budget this year. Director Colleen Rortvedt says that has forced them to remove some expensive landscaping elements
Rortvedt adds that the grand staircases planned for the new library are also being scaled back, and that more space in the library will be multi-purpose in nature. A revised library design should be ready by the end of the year, with the project going out for another round of bids early in 2023.
