NEENAH, Wis–The Neenah School Board will give a developer another month to work out a plan for the Shattuck Middle School site. Northpointe Development of Oshkosh has its offer to purchase extended to January 31st. There is also a provision to extend that deadline for another 90-days after that if approved by both parties.
Northpointe originally offered the district half a million dollars for the properties along Elm Street–with plans to convert the school itself into apartments–and then building townhouses and single family homes on the additional space. The Neenah Common Council rejected a needed rezoning request earlier this month.
The School Board approved the offer extension during a closed door meeting this week. The Board did not take action on a second offer to purchase from Neenah resident Tamara Hasz–saying that she needs to provide more details on what she would do with the property.
