People that listen to my show regularly, know that I have not been thrilled with the any of the major airlines operating in this country. Not only have their been major abuses of power, but it seems that the major agencies responsible for holding the industry accountable for their decisions are not asking the necessary questions.
I invited Senior Aviation Fellow with the American Economic Liberties Project, William J. Mcgee, on to the program to talk about a variety of issues surrounding airlines and the Department of Transportation. Topics include his experience fighting against the excesses in an unregulated industry, the unwillingness of the DOT to enact any type of regulation or penalty, both under the current Secretary and previous ones, and what the term Federal Preemption means and how addressing this might be the solution that we are looking for.
