APPLETON, Wis–Appleton Police are investigating a case of bank fraud. Back in January, the suspect walked into the U-S Bank branch on North Durkee Street and withdrew $4,000 from an account, and then cashed a cashier’s check against the same account for an additional $4,000.
The same person also tried to withdraw $4,700 from that account at the U-S Bank branch in Oshkosh, but that transaction was denied. The victim, who lives in Chicago, says those withdrawals were not authorized.
