Wisconsin is one of the last 10 states in the country to to expand access to Medicaid. Unfortunately, it only gets worse from there.
There is now a bill working its way through the State Legislature that would open the door to thousands of people being denied access to life saving care for 6 months at a time.
Recently, I was sent an email from the Wisconsin Council of Churches detailing not only the difficult times that Wisconsin’s poorest residents could be facing, but also how this will negatively impact the people in this state that do not rely on Badgercare for medical care.
Wisconsin Council of Churches Justice and Wellness Coordinator Peter Bakken joined me to tell me exactly what the organization hopes to see happen as this bill continues to circulate.
