FOX CROSSING, WI — A potential identification has been developed on the human remains found Thursday in a marshy area near Little Lake Butte des Morts in Fox Crossing. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says the County Medical Examiner and U-W Oshkosh are using multiple biological tests, including DNA to make a positive identification. The advanced state of decomposition makes the use of such technologies necessary. The sheriff’s office says they’ve met with the family of the person whose remains they may be. But no identity will be released until there’s physical evidence to support their findings.
