APPLETON, Wis. — Legendary WHBY Radio News Director Ray Wiater has died.
Wiater passed away Wednesday night after a short respiratory illness with his family by his side.
Ray came to WHBY in 1973 and worked here for more than 35 years. He was also an avid runner, competing in the Fox Cities Marathon well into his 70’s.
Ray was 89 years old. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2002:
