APPLETON, Wi. — After nearly 30 combined years working in radio, Carol Patrizi is officially retiring from WHBY radio.
You might recall in November of 2021, the long time morning news anchor and co-host of AM Fox Valley announced she’d be stepping back from her full time role.
Carol moved to a part-time and fill in schedule on WHBY and since then you’ve heard her on a part-time, fill-in basis.
“It’s been a pleasure. Because of WHBY I am more connected to the people of the community. My position in news and at the station afforded me with experiences and opportunities I know I would not have had. I am grateful,” shares Patrizi.
Patrizi joined WHBY in December of 2007 and has been part of delivering news since then.
“I had the unique opportunity to work with Carol very early in my time at Woodward and I’ll always remember how welcoming she was.” shares WHBY Brand Manager B.J. DeGroot. “I was promoted to producer/co-host late in 2016 when WHBY launched AM Fox Valley. At the time I was a young, wide-eyed aspiring broadcaster, who was extremely raw and nervous about joining such a respected station in WHBY. Carol helped make the transition so easy as she offered so much support for a young broadcaster. I’ll never forget the extremely early mornings filled with plenty of coffee and bringing an entertaining morning show to Northeast Wisconsin. I’ll always cherish the conversations about life off the air.”
At the time of Carol’s move to part-time status, current news director Jonathan Krause shared these words, “I would like to thank Carol for her years of dedication to WHBY News. She has always been the consummate professional and a trusted voice for information in the Fox Valley. I hope she enjoys getting to sleep in from now on.”
Carol’s final day with WHBY is Thursday, August 17. She reflected on her career and shares what’s next, with Hayley Tenpas of Focus Fox Valley.
