UPDATE: Wayne Siems remains missing and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office now reports his wife died unexpectedly. Siems, who has numerous health issues, left his home September 15 without a vehicle, wallet, keys or cellphone and had purchased a 9-millimeter handgun. Sheriff’s deputies says it’s likely Siems does not know that his wife has passed away.

PICKETT, WI — Authorities continue searching for a Winnebago County man who’s been missing since Friday. 65-year-old Wayne Siems was last seen around 9:00 AM Friday, September 15, at his home on Bonnieview Road in Pickett. Siems reported has multiple health issues including the need for blood thinners. He also has a pacemaker. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says Siems has been upset over recent legal issues and recently bought a Springfield Armory 9 millimeter pistol. A search of fields and wooded areas near Wayne Siems’s home turned up the firearm’s containers, though no signs of him being nearby. He has no cellphone, no vehicle and did not take his wallet or medications. Anyone who may know where Wayne Siems is or maybe is asked to contact the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
