APPLETON, Wis–Criminal charges are filed against a man accused of kidnapping a woman and her child outside the Fox River Mall. Jay Scott is facing counts of Armed Carjacking, Kidnapping, Forceful Abduction of a Child, Armed Robbery, Theft, and Bail Jumping.

According to the criminal complaint, Scott pulled a knife on a woman in the mall parking lot Monday night, forcing her to drive him and her child to several banks to withdraw money. The mother and child escaped in Neenah. Scott was arrested in the town of Rushford later that night.
He faces up to 188-years in prison if convicted.
