FOND DU LAC, WI — Less than a week after being injured in a shooting incident, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s K9 unit “Iro” is homeward bound. In a video posted to Facebook, Iro and his partner Deputy Blaine Evans are seen leaving BluePearl Pet Hospital-Fox Valley Friday afternoon. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmitt says Iro’s recovery is coming faster than expected. Iro is now at Deputy Evans’ home recovering. The incident during which Iro was injured remains under investigation. The Facebook post says additional updates on Iro’s progress will be issued as needed, instead of daily reports. Sheriff Waldschmitt thanked the community for its support of Iro and the department.
