APPLETON, Wis–A Wisconsin Rapids man will spend 25-years in prison for a cold-case kidnapping at the Fox River Mall. Erich Carter is also sentenced in Outagamie County Court to 15-years on extended supervision for First Degree Sexual Assault and Kidnapping.
Carter pulled a gun on a 16-year old girl in the parking lot of the mall in February of 2000, forcing her to drive to a nearby location where he sexually assaulted her. He was not charged until 2021 when D-N-A evidence matched him to the crime.
