GREEN BAY, WI — A former Green Bay City Council member is calling for security upgrades at City Hall. That comes after a a masked man wearing a hood and black trench coat entered City Hall Tuesday saying he was looking for “city council people.” Exclusive security video from our media partner Action 2 News shows the man making his way to the second floor where council members are meeting. Former Council Member Barbara Dorff, who’s also an active shooter trainer, was in the hallway as the man walked by. She says she then told Police Chief Chris Davis, who was in the council chambers, to check things out. Dorff believes this should serve as a warning to the council.
“The only way it could have been handled better is if they had the technology in that building and outside of that building to ensure that person left the area and left the building,” Dorff said. “And that’s something that I will testify at the budget meeting about getting.”
Chief Davis talked with the man, who lifted one mask only to reveal another which he kept in place. Chief Davis says he didn’t pat the man down or take any other action because the man did nothing wrong. The man left City Hall without incident.
