Those of you that listen to my program regularly may have caught on to the fact that I do not believe that the interests of the American people are represented in any meaningful way by the current flock of nominees. We’re stuck having debates about which of the countries we should send tax dollars to, all while conversations about healthcare, the economy, and achieving the American Dream go by the wayside.
Cenk Uygur, the Founder of The Young Turks (TYT), has thrown his hat into the ring as one of the opponents Biden must face on his way to securing the Democratic nomination. Or at least, that’s what I’d be typing about here if we as a country had a media and political landscape that truly had an interest in letting the contest play out fairly.
Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, we do not.
There has been very little media buzz about candidates running against Joe Biden within the Democratic Party or as a third party candidate, and I’m not sure that that is an accident.
Cenk went on to explain to me and the listeners exactly where he believes the President has let us down over the last 4 years, the places in which he differs from Biden, and why he believes it is imperative for the Democratic Party to find a stronger candidate than the current one, if Dems truly believe that Donald Trump represents the existential threat that they claim he is.
I promised myself when I started this show that I would provide a platform for all parties and ideals because it is only through dialogue that we can grow as a people and country.
I’m not sure where this campaign will lead, but what I can say is this: there are people out there that have great platforms, new ideas, and a desire to make life better for the entire American population, and I believe based on my conversation with Cenk, he represents one of those types of people.
