FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. — A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy is credited with stopping a wrong-way driver.
Sgt. Paul Metzger and another deputy were investigating a crash on U.S. Highway 151 early Sunday morning when dispatchers received reports of a vehicle heading north in the southbound lanes.
Metzger left the scene and met the vehicle a short time later. The driver did not stop and struck the front of Metzger’s squad.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Driving Without Insurance, and other charges.
