APPLETON, Wis. — A suspect is not in police custody following a disturbance in Appleton.
Officers were sent to a home in the 1300 block of S. Riverdale Drive shortly after noon Thursday for a welfare check.
When they arrived, a victim was able to safely leave the home. Officers learned that a man was inside and possibly armed, which led to the deployment of the SWAT Team. Investigators later searched the home but did not find the suspect.
Meanwhile, police were working with nearby schools to make sure students were safely released.
The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information should contact Appleton police.
