OSHKOSH, Wis–The Oshkosh Police Department has lost one of its canine units. “Magic”, a golden retriever that served as an emotional support animal for victims of crime and those working in the department itself, died over the weekend.
The department says that “Magic” became ill suddenly and veterinarians discovered that she had cancerous tumors around her heart and other organs. A decision was made to put down the dog to prevent further suffering.
“Magic” had been with the Oshkosh Police Department since 2022.
