MADISON, Wis–The new Legislative district maps signed into law by Governor Tony Evers will create a number of head-to-head matchups between current lawmakers in our area.
In the Assembly, the new 2nd District includes Republican Representatives John Macco of Ledgeview and Shae Sortwell of Two Rivers. The new 3rd District includes Republican Representatives Ty Bodden of Hilbert and Ron Tussler of Harrison. The new 4th District includes Republican Representatives Elijah Behnke of Oconto and David Steffen of Green Bay. The new 55th District would pit Republican Representatives Nate Gustafson of Fox Crossing and Michael Schraa of Oshkosh against each other.
In the state Senate, the new 13th District would include Republican Senators Joan Ballweg of Markesan and John Jagler of Watertown. The 30th District now includes three incumbent Republican Senators: Rob Cowles of Green Bay, Eric Wimberger of Green Bay and Andre Jacque of De Pere.
In all, the Evers’ map pits 15-Republicans head-to-head, one Democratic matchup, three Republican and Democratic incumbents, and 15-districts that would have no incumbents living there.
