APPLETON, Wis. — The city of Appleton will not place new restrictions on food trucks in the entertainment district in the wake of increased violence in the area.
Mayor Jake Woodford and police chief Polly Olson had proposed cutting off food truck sales at midnight, instead of the current limit of 4 a.m.
But department of public works director Danielle Block says language in the existing street vendor ordinance can be used to make sure large groups don’t gather at bar time……….
A proposal to increase lighting on some of the side streets off College Avenue is already heading to the Appleton Common Council for approval. A third measure that would require bars to install security cameras at all entrances is still under consideration.
