(APPLETON, WI) — What started as an occasional role for Jeffery McMullen became a command performance in 2012 and earned him a spot in the International Santa Claus Hall of Fame in Memphis, TN. “Santa Mac” as McMullen is now known, started Santa’s Magical Christmas Cottage. It gives families private one-on-one visits with “Santa Mac” along with a traditional Christmas setting, including twinkling lights and aromas from pine trees and freshly baked cookies. McMullen says the idea for the cottage came after a long seasonal tour of West Coast shopping malls and created a desire for a more positive visit with Santa.
McMullen says he gets as caught up in the magic of the season as cottage visitors, though McMullen says a visit from one special child stands out.
Induction into the Santa Claus Hall of Fame may not seem to have the stature of an Oscar or an Emmy. Just don’t tell that to “Santa Mac”.
McMullen, who is the first Santa from Wisconsin to make the Hall of Fame, and fellow inductees were officially welcomed into the Hall of Fame Friday evening.
