GREEN BAY, Wis–The Brown County District Attorney determines that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with a fatal officer-involved shooting in Green Bay.
Steve Ventura died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a shootout with Officer Dan Skenandore back on February 23 on the east side of the city. The incident started with the report of a man with a gun. Officer Skenandore followed Ventura onto Green Ridge Drive, where shots were fired from both vehicles.
The D-A’s office determined that the officer was justified in returning fire, and that Ventura took his own life. Skenandore had been on administrative leave since the incident.
