APPLETON, Wis–A Washington state man is found “guilty” of raping and killing a woman in Grand Chute back in 1988. An Outagamie County jury returns the verdict against Gene Meyer on charges of First Degree Murder and First Degree Sexual Assault.
Meyer sexually assaulted Betty Rolf before killing her and dumping her body under an overpass in November of 1988. Meyer was charged in 2022 after his D-N-A was matched to samples found at the crime scene.
He faces life in prison. No sentencing date has been set.
