OSHKOSH, Wis. — An Omro man who killed his girlfriend reaches a plea deal with prosecutors.
Joseph Olvera is convicted in Winnebago County Court on a reduced charge of First-Degree Reckless Homicide. He had initially been charged with First-Degree Intentional Homicide in the smothering death of Johanna Schultz in March of 2023.
Olvera then involved police in a standoff with shots being fired.
He faces up to 60 years in prison when sentenced on Aug. 29.
