APPLETON, Wis–The city of Appleton announces plans to help people clean up from last week’s flooding. The city plans special pickup of flood-damaged items from homes in areas bounded by Richmond, Ballard, Wisconsin and Northland on the north side of the city.
That area saw flooding during last Friday’s slow-moving storms. Water damaged items can be left on the curb the night before the start of collections on Wednesday, July 10th and on Monday, July 15th.
The city will not collect electronics, appliances, hazardous waste, or tree and brush debris.
Appleton is also offering clean up kits for residents which include bleach, a mop and broom, sqeegees, garbage bags, gloves, and masks. Those can be picked up at the Facilities and Grounds Operations Center on Witzke Boulevard.
