GREEN BAY, Wis. — A Green Bay teen will be in her late 20s when released from prison for the drug overdose death of a De Pere man in 2022.
Seventeen-year-old Maylia Sotelo is sentenced to 10 years in prison initially and 10 years on extended supervision.
Sotelo pleaded no contest to first-degree reckless homicide by delivery of drugs, party to the crime of manufacturing or delivering fentanyl and possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver.
At the time of the investigation into the death of an 18-year-old man, investigators found a shoebox in her bedroom containing 775 fentanyl pills. Investigators say 60 percent of those contained lethal doses.
Sotelo was described as “the largest fentanyl dealer” in Brown County schools.
