APPLETON/GREEN BAY, WI — Appleton Police release more information on an emergency call at ThedaCare Medical Center Appleton this afternoon. The hospital received calls from an individual saying they were in the hospital parking lot armed with an AR-15 assault rifle. Police responded and the hospital was placed on lockdown as a precaution. A police search found no person or weapon on the property. Shortly after 12:00 PM, Green Bay Police were dispatched to Aurora Bay Care Medical Center for a report of a security emergency. The hospital was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Police say the report that prompted the security emergency proved to be false and there was no threat to hospital staff, patients or visitors and the lockdown was lifted.

The Appleton Police Department Facebook page says officers were dispatched to ThedaCare Medical Center-Appleton this afternoon for an undisclosed incident. No other details are known at this time. Shortly after 12:00 PM, Green Bay Police were dispatched to Aurora Bay Care Medical Center for a report of a security emergency. The hospital was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
