OSHKOSH, Wis–An Oshkosh man accused of piloting a powerboat involved in a hit and run crash on the Fox River will spend five months in jail. Jason Lindemann is also sentenced in Winnebago County Court to three years on probation for 2nd Degree Reckless Endangerment and Failing to Render Aid at a Boating Accident.
Lindemann’s boat struck the On the Loos Cruise paddle wheeler on the Fox River in Oshkosh on July 9th of 2022. Several people on-board the paddle-wheeler were injured. Lindemann left the scene and spent the night on Lake Winnebago. It was three days before he turned himself into police.
Deputy District Attorney Emily Thompson says Lindemann never expressed any remorse for his actions………..
At Thursday’s sentencing hearing, Lindemann did apologize for his actions……….
In handing down his sentence, Judge Michael Gibbs took Lindemann to task for his actions……….
The crash victims have filed for more than $600,000 in restitution. Those requests will be considered at a hearing on January 22nd.
