From Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22, the Fox Cities Marathon weekend of events will be taking place.
Starting with Friday, the Kids Fun Run will be underway from 4-6PM at the Fox Cities Stadium where they will have a Huggies® Diaper Dash and Toddler Trot.
- 4-6 p.m. – Diaper Dash open
- 5-6 p.m. – Toddler Trot (on-field course)
- 5:45 p.m. – Guardian Kids Fun Run Mini-Dash around the bases (ages 6 and under)
- 6:15 p.m. – Mascot Race
- 6:30 p.m. – Guardian Kids Fun Run 1/4-mile run (1 lap around the stadium on the track)
- 7 p.m. – Guardian Kids Fun Run 1/2-mile run (2 laps around the stadium on the track)
There will also be a Nutritional Health & Wellness Expo at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Fox Cities Campus Field House and Communication Arts Center. It offers high-quality vendors, samples and technology in sports, fitness and nutrition. The Expo is also where participants can pick up their packets for Saturday and Sunday events. This event is free and open to the public.
Heading into Saturday, the Ascension 5K Run/Walk and the SCHEELS 10K Run/Walk kick off at 9 a.m. in Riverside Park.
Finally, the Community First Fox Cities Marathon, ThedaCare Half Marathon, and OSMS Relay Marathon will begin at 7a.m. at the start line located at UWO-Fox Cities. The race finish line will be located at Riverside Park in Neenah. Here are a few fun facts!
- More than 1,400 participants will take to the 13.1-mile course which will begin in front of the Barlow Planetarium at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Fox Cities Campus and follow the marathon route until mile 2.25 where it will split off before rejoining the last eight miles of the marathon route to the finish line.
- Nearly 60 teams, consisting of two to five participants, will make their way through the entire length of the marathon course, with each member completing at least one leg of the course.
- More than 500 participants will travel through seven Fox Cities communities on the 26.2-mile course before finishing at Riverside Park in Neenah.
