CLINTONVILLE, Wis. — It took jurors in Waupaca County Court 12 minutes to convict 20-year-old Jordon Peters for the stabbing death of his mother in September of last year.
Peters was charged in that case after stabbing his mother, 39-year-old Angela Zahn, in Clintonville while driving a vehicle in which he and another child were passengers.
Prior to being taken to a hospital where she later died, Zahn told police that Peters “hates me!”
Peters pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
Jurors will reconvene Friday for Phase 2 of the trial to determine whether he was responsible mentally for the crime.
