MANITOWOC, WI — The mother of Elijah Vue and her boyfriend appear before a judge in Manitowoc County Court for a bail hearing. Bail for Katrina Baur is set at $400-thousand while Jesse Vang’s bail is set at $500-thousand. That comes one day after Baur and Vang were charged with multiple counts in connection with Vue’s death. The toddler was reported missing February 20 and his remains were found in a remote area near Two River last month. Among the charges against Jesse Vang are two counts of Physical Abuse of a Child-Repeated Acts Causing Death. Baur is charged with two-counts of Chronic Neglect of a Child-Consequence Death. Vang and Baur are back in court on October 21.

TWO RIVERS, WI — Multiple charges are being filed against the mother of three-year-old Elijah Vue and her boyfriend. Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre announces at an afternoon news conference that Jesse Vang is being charged with Physical Abuse of Child-Repeated Acts Causing Death, Hiding a Corpse and Obstructing an Officer. Vue’s mother, Katrina Baur, is charged with Chronic Neglect of a Child-Consequence Death, Child Neglect and Obstructing an Officer. Vue was reported missing while in the custody of Vang. Vang and Baur have been in custody since shortly after Vue disappeared on February 20th. His remains were found on private property near a campground last month. Baur sent Elijah to live with Vang to help him, in Baur’s words “learn how to be a man.” Baur and Vang are expected to appear for a bail hearing in Manitowoc County Court tomorrow.
