APPLETON, Wis. — The city of Appleton finishes replacing all of its lead pipes.
The effort was in response to the banning of lead as a pipe material in 1986 and a federal mandate to eliminate lead lines.

Appleton residents with galvanized service lines are receiving information from the city on replacing them.
The goal is to have all galvanized pipes replaced within the next five years.
