WAUPACA, WI — A Waupaca County judge sentences a drunk driver to a total of 36 years in prison for a crash that killed four members of a Weyauwega family. Scott Farmer of Neenah was convicted on four counts of Homicide by Intoxicated use of a Vehicle. Farmer was traveling the wrong way along State Highway 10 in December of last year when he struck an S-U-V carrying four members of the Gonzalez family. Their step-father–Kurt Schilling–described being ushered away from the crash scene by police that night.
The mother of the four victims –Paulina Schilling–through an interpreter, described what it was like learning about the crash.
Farmer had four previous drunk driving convictions. He addressed the court before sentence was handed down.
Farmer received nine-years initial confinement for each count of Homicide by Intoxicated use of a Vehicle. He was also sentenced to five-years of supervision on each count. Those sentences will be served consecutively. Farmer is also sentenced to 18-month for Operating While Intoxicated.
