APPLETON, Wis–The man accused of robbing an Appleton bank held up the same branch 14 years ago. Martin Schiedermayer is accused of passing a note to the teller at the Wells Fargo Bank on S. State Street Tuesday morning demanding cash. He was arrested about 20 minutes later.
Court records show Schiedermayer was convicted on one count of robbery with the threat of force stemming from a May of 2011 holdup at the same bank. He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
Schiedermayer was charged with one count of robbery of a financial institution in connection with this week’s incident. He faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
