OSHKOSH, Wis–A private fundraising effort is underway to save the Menominee Park train in Oshkosh. A Go Fund Me campaign looks to raise $50,000 to keep the mini-train running around the park for another year.
The Parks Department plans to cut that service, along with pedal-boats in the Menominee Park lagoon, this summer. Interim City Manager John Fitzpatrick says the decision is more related to equipment and staffing than just funding……………
Council member Paul Esslinger says more than just one-time money will be needed to save the train………….
The Go Fund Me drive has raised just $2,300 so far.
