I very rarely have an opportunity to talk about an election and say that I actually LIKE what both the incumbent and the candidate represent. I’m happy to report that the Winnebago County Executive race is one of those elections.
Today, I spoke with challenger Gordon Hintz.
With his extensive background serving in the Wisconsin Legislature for the better part of 2 decades, mixed with a new approach to addressing some of the biggest issues facing the county, he makes a great case.
We covered a number of different issues during our conversation today, including budgeting and tax rates, access to affordable housing, the potential impact on Medicaid for the people in the area, and potential changes to zoning regulations.
A desire to push back against a status quo that has failed us was a big part of the conversation too, which if you’re a regular listener, is just music to my ears.
Make sure you get your voices heard by April 1st, and early voting has already started!

I will speak to the incumbent for the position, Jon Doemel, on Thursday.
