TOWN OF CHARLESTOWN, Wis. — A child dies from injuries suffered in an early-morning fire at a home near New Holstein.
Crews were called to the house in the town of Charlestown around 2:10 a.m. Wednesday.
An unresponsive child was recovered from the scene. First responders began life-saving measures, but the child was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire are unknown.
An investigation continues.
