NEENAH, Wis. — A Neenah police officer is fired — and is facing criminal charges — for the alleged possession of child pornography.
According to news releases from the Neenah and Kaukauna police departments, the officer is Owen Halls.
Halls joined Neenah police in March of 2024 and was still in his probationary period.
Chief Aaron Olson says his office was alerted on Monday after an Internet Crimes Against Children tip to Kaukauna police identifying Halls’ residence. Kaukauna police executed numerous search warrants and subpoenas at that location Wednesday. That led to the recommendation of two counts of possession of child pornography against Halls, who is being held in the Outagamie County Jail.
No additional details are being released, and the case remains under investigation.
Editor’s note: This story has been corrected to reflect that criminal charges are being recommended, but have not been filed.
