Five companies from the Fox Valley area made it to the second round of the “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” contest.
Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce spokesman Nick Novak says they had nearly 150 nominees, and an online vote narrowed them to 16.
Plexus in Neenah is the No. 1 seed, for a product that’s a diagnostic machine for COVID-19, the flu, and other illnesses.
Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac is the second seed, Kimberly-Clark in Neenah is the third, and The Boldt Company in Appleton is at No. 4. Lakeside Plastics in Oshkosh is the ninth seed.
Voting runs through Sunday, and the top eight will be announced on Monday.
