Plows are on the roads for the first significant snow fall in Northeast Wisconsin. Green Bay Public Works Director Steve Grenier had plows on standby for later in the evening Tuesday after much of the snow fell.
He planned for a full city wide plow around 3 a.m. Wednesday. Grenier hopes that those vehicles will be moving out of the primary system and into residential areas by about 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m.
Green Bay Water Utility and the fire department launched a new program this year called Hydro Helpers. It’s a program that encourages kids to adopt a fire hydrant in their neighborhood to clear all winter.
