The Mead Park Pool in Appleton will be closed this hot, sticky weekend due to staffing issues. According to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, the Red Cross notified them that many of the lifeguards hired for this summer had not been properly certified due to incomplete course matter being delivered to them. Both Mead and Erb pools were closed on Thursday–with enough staff to keep only Erb open over the weekend.
