There will be a heavy police presence at Neenah High School today. That follows a firearms threat that put the high School and Tullar and Hoover Elementary school on lockdown Monday afternoon. A 17-year-old boy from Appleton was arrested and is in custody. A phone call just before 1:00 PM indicated a potential threat with a gun outside of the high school. Neenah Schools Superintendent Dr. Mary Pfeiffer said the threat targeted a specific high school student.
“This was an isolated threat, including a threat made toward a specific student,” Dr. Pfeiffer said. “That student and family have been contacted. We consider this situation resolved. But as an extra safety precaution, we will be having additional police presences at Neenah High School (Tuesday).”
Police found no weapons on or near school property. The suspect’s name has not been released.
