Appleton Alder Matt Reed will not run for re-election next spring. In a social media post, Reed says he wants to focus on other aspects of his life. Reed represents the eighth district on the Appleton Common Council. He was first elected to the council six years ago. Reed is the second incumbent to announce he is not running. District 4 Alder Joe Martin stated earlier this year he will not be on the April ballot.
