APPLETON, Wis–An Outagamie County double murder suspect is convicted on charges related to an attempted jail escape. Matthew Beyer pleads “no contest” to counts of Attempted Escape and Taking a Hostage.
Beyer pulled a sharp object on a jail guard while trying to get out of the Outagamie County Public Safety building with another inmate back in June of 2020. He did not make it out of the secure area. He faces up to 46-years in prison when sentenced on October 24th.
Meanwhile, Beyer’s trial for allegedly killing his five and three year old children in their Kaukauna home in February of 2020 has been pushed back from next month to December 1st.
